So, a friend has one of these for sale. I believe it's a '77. Anyone have any experience? Anything in particular to watch for/weak spots? Looks like a pretty cool antique bike:

Bikes from that era are generally bulletproof. Add gas & oil, ride and enjoy.

I worked with a guy that drove one of those everyday it was nice for over 20 years.

Hope that helps.

Nice bikes, if shaft driven also watch your "diff" fluid.....

It is shaft driven. No first hand experience, but I recall they were good bikes. ISTR it's a triple.

The '78 is better--more power and higher redline. There was a problem with the fuel petcocks leaking which caused backfires that ultimately ate the starter system. I know this because it happened to me and it was fixed under warranty. Lots of torque reaction on the driveshaft. Limited rear tire selection due to the shaft. Sounds great with a 3 into 1.

All I keep thinking: would make an exceptional cafe bike.

Unfortunately, it's already sold. Not the right one I guess, but added to the list for a future addition to the collection .

I've ridden one many years ago, it was memorable for great engine noise, great torque, and great (as in a very large amount) of rear suspension jacking from the shaft drive.
