They both look pricey-ish. But not at all if they help me get jobs done. I know there's youtube but for some reason I just don't want to sit through videos that are ultimately E36 M3e. So which of the two are best for an amateur diy'er and should they be used in conjunction with a Haynes or Chilton?
I actually prefer to find the manufacturer's Factory Service Manual and work off of that. They have more detail and the instructions tend to be very user friendly.
I have used both of them in shops over the years and will agree with Box the FSM's are the way to go unless you are working on multiple cars or the FSM is out of print / was never printed.
