If you worry about someone popping the garage door open while you have a car on the lift, here's a solution someone developed, DIY-style to alleviate that potential issue:

LiftLock

That's pretty slick. Doesn't look too hard to make either.

Yeah, my thought as well, hence the share with some of my favorite peeps.

looks way overcomplicated. agree with most of the commenters there. There's no reason a simple wired interlock switch wouldn't be more reliable and easier to install.

Exactly my thought. Relay and magnetic contacts and you're done. No need for any active electronics or radio chips. No missed "ACK" signals. KISS principal in action - I bet this guy is an engineer and overthinks a lot of things. ;-)

Hey now! Bet he's an ELECTRICAL engineer. ☺️ I'm a mechanical engineer and my first thought was hardwired interlocks. Seems like he's got a whole lot of unnecessary failure points.

I use vicegrips on the garage door tracks.

I was just gonna say - vicegrips on the door tracks, opener on a light switch, existing lock for door, pull the release cord, about 1000 less complicated solutions exist.
