Thread a bolt into the bung to protect the threads when welding. Otherwise you may have to chase out the threads when done. also, touch up with VHT Flame Resistant paint in a rattle can when done.

Use a long bung so just the tip of the sensor protrudes into the stream?
What's wrong with the factory location? Or are you going for a second sensor?
He has a carb, v8 rx7. No factory bung.
Ive had better results when ive flattened where the bung is getting welded.
