Some photo tips for photographing your tech tips:
Using an iPhone? If so, is the camera lens covered in pocket lint? A quick swipe with a Q-tip can fix it. Also, if using an iPhone, the HDR option can be your friend, especially in low light.
Using a point-and-shoot? If it has a macro setting, use it for close-ups.
Crappy light? Close-ups plus flash usually isn't a great combination. Try stepping back and zooming in if using the flash.
Natural light is usually preferred, but it can also lead to blurry photos in a dark shop. No tripod? Try resting the camera on something--anything, really, that's around or at least steady the camera against something solid. Don't hold your breath when shooting, either: Let out a breath and then pop the photo. That seems to work best.
Digital film is cheap, too, so shoot something a couple of different ways.
