Stud removal

You stripped the end of a stud. What's your trick to remove it?

My pal Randy welds a nut to the end of the stripped stud so he can zap it out with an impact gun.

Welding a nut on is the easiest if you have room and a welder. This past weekend I was in the back of a motorhome on a broken Cummins 5.9 exhaust bolt and I ran a die over what was left and double nutted it to remove it. It worked great.

I thought this thread was going to be about kicking me out...

I have that exact one. It works, but not very well on studs smaller than 10mm or so, or if they're really tight.

The real trick is getting out one sheared near flush, I can never get a good weld on them for some reason.

Edit: I bet the stud remover works best with an impact hammering the wheel's teeth into the stud.
