Challenge build party, Ohio Edition - July 6th/7th

The Wartburg is close to the point of pull body, finish weld chassis, paint everything and assemble for bondo slinging.  I have seriously injured my back for the 2nd time this year.  So pulling the body and manhandling the chassis and drivetrain alone is right out.

i should, provided health, be ready for this step in a couple weeks.  Thus far june 22 weekend is out.

who wants to lend a hand and when?  I will feed you, and i have a couch and an air bed.

I'm out June 21-23 for vintage at mid Ohio but I should be available any other weekend in June.  Maybe people will be around the 15th after power tour?

I can come help during some nights, I’ll be working out there in the near future

 Let me check the calendar and as long as the date works out, Count Me In!  (also could bring some of the Indy-kids to help shag parts and wrenches if you'd like)

As soon as my back is known to be back in action, I’ll pick a weekend and post it.  

Ooooh, just close enough to be possible, just far enough to be a real drive.

I'll be watching for the date but no promises.

So let me know if you want me to bring any smoked meats.  I can also bring grills if needed.

We have a big gas grill, will not turn down smoked meats.  I generally have good food around.  I have a couch and a queen size air bed.

I'm trying to weasel my way out of a previous commitment.  I'd much rather help build the Wartburg than the other planned activity.  Put me down as a 50/50 chance of showing up.

I can bring my meat to your build party, I'd feel obligated to pitch in (photo circa 2012 with my nephews at night under fire)

I should be able to make it one of the days.  EastsideWife will be returning from a Lemons Rally that weekend, so I’ll need to be ready to rescue her and the car if need be, but it’ll be up in that general direction anyway.

I have 4 crock pots, there will be a variety of foods ready to keep people fed.  I have a reputation to uphold here.

Trying hard to get stupid stuff out of the way now, like finishing welding and grinding the firewall, tunnel, and whatnot.  Also hoping to have the engine assembled and ready to go in.

if work cooperates - short days tomorrow and friday - i want to pull the body and finish weld the chassis before you guys show up so it’s more an assembly of clean fresh parts party than a fabrication party

I'll do my best to be there at least one of the days.

Mrs. ShawneeCreek and I can be there most of the day Saturday. We'll just need an address and the earliest you'd want us to be there.

Ohhhhhh we may actually get real work done with the group that’s assembling.
