We're headed to a wedding in MT soon and we'll be staying in Columbia Falls, MT near Glacier National Park.  I'm looking for a 7yr old kid friendly (and senior friendly) short hike or two in the area.  I'm looking online and finding some but wondering if there is any first hand experience.  Thank you!

I don't have any tips for Glacier National Park but when my wife and I go on trips I use Trail Forks to scope out what trails we want to hike or bike on.

We spent a week here - top 3 in my list of parks.  Some say it's an unspoken park as Yellowstone gets all the glory.  Just keep in mind there's a lot of driving so plan where you're going.

We went river rafting and it took a lot of time to get there, raft then back to the lodge.  We took a bear training class one night in the lodge that got my wife a bit nervous!

We went two years ago. You needed passes for the "Going to the sun" road. Make sure to check on the pass situation as you have to wait until a certain time to get them and they go quick.

My wife has just broken her humerus a few days before so we could not do many trails but "Hidden Lake trail" was very nice and if she could do it with a broken arm, then its definitely ok for all ages. We saw a lot of mountain sheep and a bear, yes, bring bear spray.

Definitely a very nice park. If you need a place to stay, let me know and I will look up the airbnb we stayed at. It was 5' from the park entrance.

Also Atomic Tacos in Kalispell was excellent.

Just a few shots from GNP.  Going to the Sun Road was awesome. We did a couple of the easier trails and had a blast. Highly recommended!  Thanks for the advice GRM!

Some great short hike suggestions for Glacier National Park that would work for your 7-year-old and seniors are Hidden Lake Trail and the Sun Point Nature Trail. Hidden Lake is very scenic and mostly flat, while Sun Point is a lovely paved loop. Both are under 2 miles so should be very doable. Since it will be summer, pack water and sunscreen for everyone. smiley
