I just realized, looking at my 2025 calendar, that the annual EAA Airventure event starts the day after the close of the Brian Redman Historic Hawk event at Road America. I'm thinking about a week with my kids and catching the USS Cobia in Manitowoc, the Green Bay Packer Museum at Lambeau Field and perhaps tour Door County as my kids have never seen it. I hope I can get the time off.

I may reach out, my 15 yo is very interested in going to this (so am I). I doubt it will be in 2025 but maybe 2026. I would like to go to it and camp but dragging my camper from NY to Wisconsin for 4 days of camping sounds awful.
Tents are just fine. You'll be there to sleep and eat., nothing more. Way too much going on to be diddling around at the campsite.

Never been to Road America, but met Brian Redman in the 1990s at the Walter Mitty! That's about my favorite racing stuff, especially if they have CanAm and F5000.
Found a well-reviewed Super 8 in Sheboygan - 16 miles away. Good enough?
Been to Oshkosh a dozen or more times, but either flew in and camped or had housing. No hotels within budget. Close-by dorms are full. Some other dorms available, no air conditioning. Camping is great because you're already there - great for photography.
Any suggestions on Oshkosh camping? If flying in by airline?
Buy a cheap tent and stuff in Milwaukee or Fond du Lac?
How do you reasonably bring camping gear on an airliner?
If camping at Oshkosh, what about electricity for chargers?

NY Nick and BoulderG... Maybe consider renting a RV in Sheboygan? A friend did this annually when the SCCA runoffs were being held at Road America...
