On the 02 silverado. Left side marker not working. Right side does as do all the rest of the lights. I even jumped from the right to left and installed a new socket assembly.  Swapping bulbs was the 1st thing I tried.  Any ideas?

Do you have a bulb out anywhere else?  I have heard of weird situations where a burned out bulb would make other lights inop.

No other bulbs out and this socket works with the brake lights,  only the running light is out

Did you test for 12v at the socket and make sure that the ground is solid? A marker is not a complicated thing. Should be two wires at most. Check for solid ground and 12v. Then trace the 12v wire back to wherever it's spliced into the harness. That's about all I can offer.

Oh, if it's two wires, check for continuity between the chassis (good ground) and the ground terminal on the socket. If you're not sure which terminal is the ground, disconnect the battery and probe both terminals. If neither one shows continuity (or has high resistance) you know the ground is bad and you need to trace that ground wire.

This one includes the brake light which IS working.  I'm about to do an independent ground and find a closer hot light wire and splice. This is bonkers

Oh...misunderstood marker. I have no familiarity with the truck itself but I think of a marker as like a side marker on a trailer.

Does a wiring diagram help?

Ended up doing an independent ground and taking Power from a known good light. Hate doing a cob job but...
