Better than: Lexus ES350
But not as good as: Lexus GS460
GRM Bang For The Buck Index: 81.90
An all-new Lexus GS is right around the corner. We recently got one last look at the outgoing model, the V6-powered GS350. It comes standard with a ton of equipment, including six-speed automatic transmission, HID headlamps, premium sound system, dual-zone climate controls and an interior bathed in leather--basically everything you'd expect in this class.
Our car did have a few options, though: 18-inch summer tires ($870) and an $1165 Luxury Value Package that added a navigation system, back-up camera and satellite radio.

I really, really fell for this car: nice steering feel, wonderful chassis, excellent interior, good power and distinctive looks. It also got me thinking: What does a previous GS sell for? Answer: There are some killer deals out there on older Lexus sedans.
The V6 was also more than capable, and that's not damning praise. It was smooth and certainly powerful enough for normal driving. Personally, though, I think I'd have to go for the V8. I know, it's just the hotrodder inside of me.
Here's a related tip: If you also crave a V8-powered Lexus, check out the LS400 sedan from the late '90s and early '00s. There are some killer deals on them along with few negatives.
