Better than: Dodge Caliber

The Dart is the new small car from the Chrysler brand, replacing the much-maligned Caliber. There's no hatchback version, and it shares blood with a compact car from the brand's European partner, Fiat. It's got a 2-liter twin-cam engine, 4-wheel disc brakes, and starts at a reasonable $19,995. That standard price for the Limited model equips it with keyless entry, power windows, a power driver's seat, and navigation. With the six-speed automatic we saw, it's rated for 34 mpg highway. Dare we say it? This might just be the next Neon—in Limited guise, a very luxurious, heavy Neon.
I don't have anything bad to say about this car. It's quiet, comfortable, drives fine, and the controls make sense. It also has some clever packaging details, like a passenger seat bottom that flips forward, revealing a handy storage bin. If someone's looking for a good daily driver with good dynamics, this should be high on the shopping list. The Aero trim line even boasts 41 mpg highway.
Easy to drive, a comfortable ride, power when you want it, and great gas mileage. What's not to like?
