Dear Ford Fusion: Damn, you look good.
I loved it. The Fusion looks good and was quiet, comfortable, and fast enough–pretty much the perfect daily driver. I drove around in hybrid mode for a while, content with getting more than 40 miles to the gallon. I wanted one for myself.
Then I opened the trunk. It's tiny, like, I mean, really, really tiny. Like Miata-sized.
I couldn't figure out where all the trunk space went, until I saw what was sitting in the spare tire well: a charger! This was a plug-in hybrid!
I plugged it in overnight, and the next day I didn't use any gas at all. The future is here, and I'm convinced it involves never taking my daily driver to a gas station.
Of course, there are some awkward details that come with owning a car that isn't cordless. In the interest of being cheap, I would subtly joke about needing to plug my car in whenever I stopped somewhere. After a few more minutes of awkward, the reward was free driving! Woohoo!
