It looks kind of like the Accord Crosstour. But in a good way. Like this is what the stylist wanted to build and got told to scale up to a big weird wagon.
The 2016 Honda Civic is the first model year for its latest (tenth) generation. Our test car was an experience in value. This is the least expensive trim you can order with zero optional equipment. That brings the price tag under $20,000.
Just like so many Civics before it, this new generation is aimed directly at the rational consumer. This car isn't going to win any drag races and the interior isn't going to blow you away.
However, the newest generation of Civic continues to be the benchmark for the utilitarian automobile. The car is light, it comes with a manual transmission standard and if you fold the back seat down you have ample room for whatever you're carrying. Being a Honda we can assume a reasonable level of reliability. The new exterior is striking as well.
Once behind the wheel, it feels exactly like... A Civic. There's really no other way to put it. There's no doubt this recipe has worked for Honda and millions of car owners in the past so we're all for more of the same. The price tag is very nice, too: $19,050.

I enjoyed the one I test drove, but I couldn't get over the electronic parking brake. Give me simplicity!

Like them or not, electric parking brakes are becoming the standard. They do take up less console space. Hard to use for e-brake turns, though.
