The Lexus RX series received a facelift for 2020: new nose, new tail and new details. We spent some time with the RX 350L, the L denoting the longer, three-row version.
Where the RX350 line starts at $44,150, the RX350L will set you back at least $47,300.
For those who want a mid-sized, three-row SUV bearing an upmarket logo on the grille, the RX350L delivers. It features all of the details and touches you’d expect from the brand. And Lexus shows that their design language can be applied to most any shape: sedan, SUV or sports car.
So, why the pause? Because Lexus’s latest interface isn’t getting easier to use. Where we’re seeing more and more touch screens–good or bad, I should add–the Lexus trackpad-like controller can be confusing, especially when you add in the other buttons. This is not a car that you can jump in and quickly master. Yes, owners will (eventually) get used to it, but while long a Lexus fan, I'm finding it less and less intuitive.
Other than that, it does what a Lexus should: comfortably and stylishly get you from here to there.
And, for the record, I dig the styling.
