VW offers eight different trims, available with front-wheel-drive or all-wheel drive, and, depending on the trim, a four- or six-cylinder engine.
We just sampled the SE trim–one step up from the base S trim–powered by the 2.0-liter turbo-four mated to VW’s 4Motion all-wheel-drive system.

It’s the Volkswagen of mid-sized SUVs.
That’s the review.
How’s that the review? The interior has that VWness–businesslike, not too flashy.
The SUV itself isn’t huge yet still has a third row. Call it efficient packaging.
And the ride is a few clicks tauter than the competition. It’s not a Toyota, not a Chrysler product.
The biggest trick: How can VW entice buyers from a so-crowded field?
