Just a single flaw: the occasional creek from the sunroof. And maybe it was just me. Or just this one example.

That’s the one, tiny complaint I had with the Genesis G90, in this case the AWD 3.5T E-Supercharger.

Everything inside felt intuitive. No guesses or wondering how to operate something. It all just made sense with perfectly weighted controls.

The doors close with a button–not common at all–yet here it felt natural.

Despite all the buttons and features, it was all so easy to use. I’m going to call it the perfect blend of contemporary and traditional. It has screens but not SCREENS.

The seats felt supportive and comfortable. Thick, meaty steering wheel that, despite just two spokes, didn’t look weird.

Both inside and out, I’m going to call the look classy and understated yet following its own design language.

Despite the mission statement, some luxury cars can just be aggravating. Want to make it warmer? Or cooler? Or change the radio station? Okay, now find the correct control–it’s here somewhere, right? The Genesis doesn’t do that. Somehow, magically, your hand just finds the switch needed to make yourself more comfortable. And that switch is going to click like it means something.

Oh, and you have to try the rear seats. The headrests are made from some kind of cloud-like substance. That’s my biggest regret with this car: You can’t drive it from the back seat.

But from the front seat, it drives very nicely: plenty of power, properly weighted steering and no issues. It might not be your next track car–or maybe it is?–but you could drive this everywhere. It felt composed on the backroads, easily navigated traffic, and devoured the interstate miles.

Genesis has quickly–very quickly–become one of favorite luxury brands. And that’s before you even look at the price.
