In the market for a luxury tourer that's not from the usual suspects? How about a Lexus LC 500?
Bonus points–the top goes down on this one.

I admit, I couldn’t figure out how to lower the top.
A switch up by the mirror? Easily accessible down by the shifter?
Yes, that was my flumbling through the owner’s manual in the parking lot. After decades of driving convertibles, one had met my match–and I love open-air driving.
I finally had to admit defeat and open the book.
And now where to find the info? Under “R” for roof or “C” for convertible?
I forgot where I found the answer, but to lower the top in the Lexus LC 500, flip up the little lid in the center console to reveal the switch. In my defense, I thought it was there to rest your wrist while working the touch pad.
With the top up, the LC 500 is a quiet luxo-tourer. It’s not a Porsche 911 replacement but, perhaps, an alternative to a big Benz. It’s quiet and far from slow. That V8 delivered endless torque.
Not available with a stick? Don’t worry, the 10-speed auto perfectly matches the mood of the car. This isn’t a Miata alternative. It’s a cruiser–and a fast one, too.
The LC 500 coupe, even years after its debut, still has a show car look about it. The open car, though, lets in the sunshine. Perfect car for cruising to the beach.
Comfortable seats, meaty steering wheel.
The LC 500 has been with us since the 2018 year yet still looks fresh. Need a comfortable coupe that’s big on torque, comfort and presence? This could be the one.
