1 month left? Good thing I just bought my car last weekend.
Last year, our challengers built an entire car on the hotel parking lot on the night before the event.
The Grassroots Motorsports $2015 Challenge driven by General Tire and sponsored by Miller Electric, CRC Industries and Pulstar Spark Plugs is one month away. Have you entered your team yet? Online registration is open. Join us at Auto Plus Raceway in Gainesville, Florida, on October 23-24.
Once again, General Tire will be presenting the General Tire Challenge. The first 20 teams to enter the $2015 Challenge will get two autocross runs in a brand new ND-chassis Mazda MX-5. The fastest driver will be awarded a set of General Tires. All 20 spots have been filled, but don’t worry, we’ll be blindly picking two more teams for this competition at the event. So register your team today and you could be autocrossing a brand new Mazda MX-5.
This year will also feature a very special guest judge for the concours portion of the event: Al Unser Jr. Want to meet and hang out with an IndyCar veteran? Here’s your chance. Thanks to Pulstar Spark Plugs for making this possible.
Miller Electric will be awarding the overall winner with a brand new welder, and the Competitor’s Choice winner with a fancy welding mask. And as always, CRC Industries will have some good items to pass out in goodie bags to all participants.
Want to join in the fun, but don’t have a car yet? There’s still time. Purchase and enter your car within two weeks from the event, and you’ll be entered into the “Last Chance Challenger” class.
Not a subscriber? Complete coverage of the $2015 Challenge will be published in the magazine. Subscribe to Grassroots Motorsports now. |
NEW MIATAS! WOOT WOOT!
I took this warning as notice that it was a good time to make a hotel reservetion.
Here are details from The Rules Page:
The host hotel for this year’s Challenge is the Best Western Gateway Grand, located at 4200 NW 97th Blvd., Gainesville, Fla., 32606. Book a room by calling them at (352) 331-3336 and ask for the GRM block. Rate is $94.00 per night.
However: I was told that there was no $94.00 rate and rather booked at $109.
