Teams looking for more time to get their hillclimb machines squared away before the 2021 Broadmoor Pikes Peak International Hill Climb, brought to you by Gran Turismo on Sunday had their last chance to do so yesterday, June 25, during the optional sanctioned practice day. Of course, Rupert Berrington and his crew were there documenting this final chance to practice. Here’s what they captured:

We're also sad to report that the number 69 Cadiallac XLR will be unable to compete on Sunday after an off-course excursion totaled the car during yesterday's session. Thankfully, the drive made it out in one piece. From the video description:

Today, on the last day of practice sessions up on the hill, Ben Councill gets lost on course at the infamous Engineers' Corner. Thinking he was approaching the "Picnic Area" he stays in throttle and even up shifts into the next gear before realizing his mistake. We will rebuild and 2022 we will be returning to the hill. Unfortunately things like this happen and while it's terrible, Ben was able to walk away and live to race another day.
