Honda indicated that it will cut ties with Wayne Taylor Racing following the 2024 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship following the announcement of a new multi-year partnership with Meyer Shank Racing (MSR).

The two Acura ARX-06 GTP race cars currently fielded by Wayne Taylor Racing will instead be run by MSR in partnership with Honda’s racing division here in the U.S., Honda Racing Corporation USA (HRC US).

Honda highlights that HRC US plans to use the new partnership to further develop “its personnel and technology for the hybrid electrified racing era,” with David Salters, President, Honda Racing Corporation USA adding “we race to develop our people and technology and we are thrilled to be partnering with MSR to race our ARX-06 against some of the world's best sportscar teams. This is why the next logical step for us is race engineer our own car: buckle-up HRC boys and girls!”

Wayne Taylor Racing–who was not quoted in Honda’s official press release–offered the following statement on social media:

The joint Honda Racing Corporation USA/Meyer Shank Racing Acura ARX-06 GTP cars are set to debut at the 2025 Rolex 24 At Daytona, January 25-26.

Thanks for posting.
That, and Pipo Derani leaving Action Express, plus the IMSA/NBC contract, is some big news in the series.
