How do you know that you’re a hardcore GRMer? Because you don’t see the BMW Z8 in this photo.

More to love about this gold-brown 1971 Ford LTD? How about the matching vinyl top and interior, complete with bench seat that’s comfier than Grandma’s couch. Oh, and the Torq Thrust-style mags and oh-so-right stance.

Last we checked, the LTD coupe went unsold at Mecum‘s recent Orlando sale at $18,000. Too much or not enough?

I took my driver's training class in a brown 1971 LTD.   smiley

Even though I really like Torq-Thrust wheels, I think I'd have to go back to the stock wheels and wheel covers to complete the 1971 look.

I'm not a fan of giant alloys on '60s and '70s machines, but the diameter was kept in check so they looked period correct.

Even in the current market, I don't quite see it being an $18,000 car, but that's not to say that I don't really like it.

Edit: scrolled through the photos, maybe I'm wrong about the value. Just needs the right buyer. Someone to love it, not flip it.

The longest tenure as a daily driver for me was my Panther platform 79 LTD.

I agree about the wheels, I think they look best if they're period correct.

I saw the Gremlin before I saw the Z8.

Torque Thrusts generally look weird on full size cars.

Love it but the rims have to go. A set of steal rims with factory hubcaps are needed.

I would be tempted to go with the classic dog dish.

but I think this is the factory correct one that the car would have had

That's a couple of years new for me, but other than a 69-70 Mustang  just about the only Ford that interests me is 66-67 LTD.

Exactly like Jay Lenos would really make me happy.
