This is an interesting acquisition on many levels. Two different worlds, but two brands noted for their performance.

If you had $405,000,000 burning a hole in your pocket, what would you spend it on? 13,972 ND Miatas? 117 Ferrari F40s? How about an entire suspension company?
Brembo today signed an agreement to acquire a 100% stake in Öhlins Racing–the largest acquisition in its history, according to Brembo.
In addition to offering OEM and aftermarket suspension parts and widgets, Öhlins also supplies parts to several motorsports bodies including MotoGP, Formula 1, World Superbike and NASCAR.
By acquiring Öhlins, Brembo also further expands its involvement in the motorcycle market. In addition to controlling wheel manufacture Marchesini, Brembo has also recently acquired motorcycle brake manufactures SBS Friction and J.Juan.

Öhlins also does, or did, suspension calibrations for OEMs.
At least, they did my car 20-odd years ago. They didn't supply the dampers, just the calibrations.
They have a shake table in their building in Hendersonville NC. Lot's of race teams come here to use it too.
Ohlins made the suspension on my Exocet. Definitely pleased with that. Never would have guessed they were worth nearly half a billion though... wow.

Yep!

Indeed it does. It would be interesting to find out who owns Brembo and then who owns that company and so on...
