Aww shucks, You Guys flatter me.
The thread title says it all: “A quick build while I'm social distancing.”
Wheelsmithy’s project started with the usual reality check:
“I bought some scrap metal yesterday so I could do a project I've wanted to do for some time.
“Of course, they didn't have exactly what I wanted at the scrap yard, and I really didn't plan this out.”
But there was a basic need that needed attending:
“I was supremely annoyed to find that 4' brakes cost about 5 bills, and maxed out at 22 ga., so I decided to build my own,” the thread says. “Hard to exceed capacity if it doesn't have one.”
Can an effective sheet metal brake really be built with scrap metal? Tune in to the thread and find out.
Extra bonus: The brake features home-made hinges turned on a lathe.
