You know those companies that let you drive a supercar on track for a few laps? Well the Fan Car Experience by JXB Performance is a lot like that, except you only get to pick one car.
No, not a Lamborghini, a Ferrari or even a McLaren, but the blisteringly fast McMurtry Spéirling.
For a refresher, the Spéirling is an all-electric fan car–à la Chaparral 2J and Brabham BT46B–good for 1000 horsepower and capable of reaching 60 mph from a standstill in under 1.5 seconds.
Additionally, Spéirling set the fastest Goodwood hillclimb record with a time of just 39.08 seconds in 2022.
Before you grab your helmet and gloves, you’ll first want to open your wallet.
After selecting one of several preselected airstrips or circuits across the country to drive the car–yes, our official test track, the FIRM, is listed–you’ll need to pick one of seven experiences, starting with the $499 “Bronze” package that consists of short handling and acceleration sessions, and topping out with the $49,999 “Track Day” package comprised of four 20-minute on-track sessions. (In addition to the $50K, you’ll also need to have at least $500,000 of HPDE coverage plus be able to prove that you have enough money in the bank to cover the cost of the vehicle and have “extensive” experience driving on track–both in general and at the location selected.)
Other packages include the opportunity to drag race another car, be left alone to your devices for a few hours and even run the car in select SCCA National Tour or Pro Solo events.
