I didn't watch it but THOSE Wheels! Those wheels and that paint make it one sexy machine.
Edit: pretty sure that photo is Pikes Peak
Want to see how Kevin Wesley's 1000-plus-horsepower Challenger Hellcat Redeye handles the corners of Virginia International Raceway? Then our Tire Rack Ultimate Track Car Challenge—our annual no-holds-barred track competition—should be on your calender this year. Our Tire Rack Ultimate Track Car Challenge is run during NASA's HyperFEST weekend, and is presented by Tire Rack in association with KONI, Wilwood Brakes, and Chillout Systems, with trophies from SPA Technique, Hoosier Tire, Falken Tires, Bimmerworld, and Mach V Motorsports.
The rules are simple: Car and driver must just pass a NASA safety inspection. Period.
Besides that, let your imagination run wild—and that's just what some of our first round of accepted entires have done:
Kevin Boehm, an R&D engineer at Honda, is bringing the world's first Type R-powered Civic Si (kind of like our own Civic Si, but with the dial turned up to 11). Knowing how well a stock Si does at the track, how much better will this Si be with a K20C1 under the hood?
Dayton de la Houssaye is bringing a MX-5 good for 420 horsepower and the ability to humble much larger competitors on track like Corvettes and Mustangs. Will this MX-5's power-to-weight ratio make it better suited to Virginia International Raceway?
Be sure to check out the rest of the accepted entires here.
