NASA has just unveiled its new, simplified classes for their upcoming NASA Championships, hoping to clarify matters and make the racing more competitive than ever.
The NASA Championships will be held at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course September 18-22, 2019.

Napa Valley, Calif., August 1st, 2019 — Before the 2019 season began, NASA put the finishing touches on its new Super Touring class rules, and that comprehensive new rules structure will be in place for the first time at a NASA Championships Sept. 18-22, 2019 at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course.
Gone are the base classes and points-based modifications of NASA’s old Performance Touring rules. At the 2019 NASA Championships, rules based on horsepower-to-weight ratios apply to all Super Touring classes, which used to apply only to “big-bore” Super Touring 1 through 3 cars.
The new rules structure is convenient and easy to understand, yet it still allows any closed-wheel/fendered car to find a place to race and be competitive in a NASA class.
Super Touring 1 = “Adjusted Wt/HP Ratio” equal to, or greater than 6.00:1
Super Touring 2 = “Adjusted Wt/HP Ratio” equal to, or greater than 8.00:1
Super Touring 3 = “Adjusted Wt/HP Ratio” equal to, or greater than 10.00:1
Super Touring 4 = “Adjusted Wt/HP Ratio” equal to, or greater than 12.00:1
Super Touring 5 = “Adjusted Wt/HP Ratio” equal to, or greater than 14.00:1
Super Touring 6 = “Adjusted Wt/HP Ratio” equal to, or greater than 18.00:1
“The remarkable thing about the Super Touring rules structure is how so many different kinds of cars can race in the same class, yet still be so evenly matched,” said NASA Vice President Jeremy Croiset. “It’s a testament to time and effort we put into making the rules as tight as possible. It makes the racing better than ever, and our 2019 NASA Championships should be even more competitive.”

They had some teething issues, but the new ST classes are a fantastic change. Our ST6 races usually include Porsche 944s, Miatas, an E36, a Sentra, an Accord, and more. Makes for a very fun field and it's much easier to get a car to fit a class. Everyone should grab an ST5 or ST6 car and come join us!

Thats the only way to go. My daily/track toy would be in ST1 where I would probably just be getting in the way!
Anything for people below the ST1 6.0 cutoff. I read that at 6 to 8 for ST1 which is still seriously moving around the track.

I believe there is STU (U stands for Unlimited) where all bets are off...
