Is that Joe Camilleri of GT5 Mini fame?
Austin Cobb took advantage of a late-race splash-and-go stop by pole sitter Tom O’Gorman to take the inaugural win in this week’s Grassroots Motorsports iRacing series. Cobb, driving the No. 36 McLaren, adds that accomplishment to his real-life NASA TTE Championship and virtual Petit LeMans GT3 win, among numerous other real-world and digital wins. O'Gorman finished second with Alexande Bueler and Miles Crabbe rounding out the top four, with second through fourth finishing practically nose to tail after half an hour of racing.
Our Thanksgiving week series—mostly an editorial exercise to gather virtual photography for an upcoming magazine story, but quickly turning into a hard-nosed competition—is open to all comers until the grids fill each night. See this news item for complete details.
Two random finishers each night will receive $20 gift cards to the GRM Store, and Trading Paints will award a Trading Paints PRO account to our art staff’s favorite livery of the week.
Shoutout to Arty Gallegos for the Hard Charger Award picking up 16 spots through the chaos at the start and carrying it to the Checkered Flag!
And is that the Jeff Altenburg in the field, too?
