Great write up detailing Bill's various escapades into war zones to do good things. Thanks to all the GRM family for supporting his efforts!
Thanks to the generosity of the GRM community, Christmas is coming to kids in war-torn Ukraine. Not only did the efforts help raise nearly $11,000 for gifts, GRM member Hungary Bill is in transit to hand deliver them.
Hungary Bill, an American autocrosser living in Hungary, has led drives to help those in Ukraine. His latest campaign involves answering the Christmas wishes of children in Dnipro.
VikkiDp, a Ukrainian serving as our boots on the ground, put together the Christmas lists from the children. Sure, many of the items requested included the usual suspects of Legos, Hot Wheels and Barbies. However, some desired more practical items, such as pajamas, diapers and baby chairs.
On Wednesday, Hungary Bill packed his “Dnipro Express” sleigh full of presents–in this case a first-gen Toyota 4Runner–and headed into Ukraine to deliver them. While we don’t have NORAD for our Santa Claus, you can follow the discussion at grassrootsmotorsports.com/ukraineaid.
