Honda Performance Development and JAS Motorsports introduced an all-new Civic Type R TCR race car today.
Based on the upcoming FL5-chassis Type R, the TCR racer is set to compete starting in April 2023 in the IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge under the HART, LA Honda World and VGRT banners.
Improvements over the previous generation model include an improved aerodynamic package for more downforce, a new chassis for better stability, more lighting, additional cooling and a new “race-prepared version of the four-cylinder, two-liter turbocharged engine featured in the Type R production vehicle.”
The upcoming Type R TCR was developed in Italy by JAS Motorsports and will be available in North America through HPD.
