Mini is working on its upcoming, all-electric model family, and they revealed four design elements of its new “Charismatic Simplicity design language.” Mini hopes to combine “traditional brand values” with “advanced technologies.”

Here is a sampling of those four elements:

New, round OLED display

Mini claims to be “the world’s first car manufacturer to offer a touch display with a fully usable round surface.”

Modern steering wheel

The two-spoke design comes standard. The optional version uses a fabric finish as a third element (pictured).

Seats

Armrests get integrated into the seat for the first time.

Rims

The two-dimensional design improves aerodynamics and range. To create a sense of depth, they use color contrasts.

Expect to see more details on the new designs in Q3 of this year, with new models starting to launch early 2024.

In the U.S., the next-generation Countryman, in both ICE and BEV variants, will come spring 2024.

The all-new Mini Cooper 2-door hardtop BEV will launch globally in 2024, but U.S. availability has yet to be confirmed.

So, what are your thoughts on these early glimpses of the new designs from Mini?
