How do car companies show what they’re capable of or hint at what the future holds? That’s right, concept cars.

Sure, most concept cars never make it to production, but is that always a bad thing?

What is the least-promising, most disappointing, flat-out no-go concept car you’ve seen?

Honestly my first thought on seeing the thread title was the new Integra. It's a perfectly fine car in itself, but with the Integra name you expect more than an unremarkable Honda sedan. I'd prefer to see something wacky and silly make it to production than something boring carrying a name that only reminds you what could've been.

Local Motors Olli. Trying to go from niche sports cars to a self driving car that bigger companies haven't had success with sank the company.

Every concept car has been disappointing. Final product never being what they showed us.

Literally any of the dozens of nearly-identical autonomous van concepts that mostly show up at CES or the like:

I don't know how everyone collectively decided that the future requires me to be whisked from place to place in an anonymous sci-fi toaster, but fortunately automated driving will be 5 years away for as long as I'm alive, so I'm safe.

This one is the worst. Some people may want to own an autonomous car, but nobody wants to own a horizontal elevator or a tiny subway car for the street.

Not really, fully autonomous passenger cars have already hit the streets:

At least the little guy on the dash was cute.  Nissan Pivo 2 I think.

In reply to GTwannaB :

I absolutely will never understand that Cybertruck hate unless it is just tied up with hating Tesla in general.

I would rock a Cybertruck all day every day and 4 times over the weekend.
