I see they got past the production issues by leaving it in primer!

We've already given the new Nissan Z a proper shakedown on the street and at our official test track–the Florida International Rally & Motorsport Park–but has its absence made our hearts grow fonder?
Follow along to find out.
Nothing, that's a really nice car. It looks to have all the performance items you would want on a new Z car. Tell us more about the manual shifter, good?

For the record, I like the “color.” :)

Smooth shifter with throws that aren’t short yet aren’t too long, either. No balkiness in the clutch action. Shift knob feels a tad on the large size, but I know that’s a personal thing.
I like this one better than the 350Z and 370Z simply because it feels less claustrophobic. I don’t feel like I’m sitting on the floor, either.
Power? Plenty with little waiting.
And, like I said, the manual works very well here. Automatics keep getting better, but this manual doesn’t leave me wishing for the two-pedal option.
A few things, though, remind me that this is a carryover chassis–or maybe a carryover of a carryover. Some of the interior bits–the door handles, the HVAC controls, the door vents, etc.–obviously aren’t new.
Does that make this a classic or dated?
I like the clues that go back to 1970 - big horn button in center, vertical lines in gas pedal. I think those touches are kinda cool.
I could stretch my car allowance and add a little extra and buy the option less base model but all I ever see are $52-$55,000 Z cars for sale. Where is the $39,000 (now at $43,305) Z at?

Sadly, no, nothing else can outrun that.
Having seen the car in person yesterday, I like the exterior color, still not sold on the blue interior though.
