Okay, now that is friggin' cool!!
What looks like a Le Mans Prototype racer but was built from an old Subaru for only 2000 bucks? The LMP360.
Although most competitors in the Grassroots Motorsports $2000 Challenge presented by Tire Rack spend the offseason prepping their low-buck machines for next year’s event (or just straight up procrastinating), forum member Nocones has bigger plans for the LMP360: competing in the Tire Rack Ultimate Track Car Challenge and NASA track days in addition to the $2000 Challenge.
So far, that means improved cooling, dialing in the ride height, adding downforce inspired by the Aston Martin Valkyrie, and fitting a fuel cell to meet safety regulations.
What is the $2000 Challenge? It’s where penny-pinching and extreme speed meet—often with spectacular results. For 2022, we’re opening up the competition to cars built for more than $2000 to see if more money really does equal more speed.

The $2000 Challenge is presented by Tire Rack, in association with CRC Industries and Miller Electric, and with trophies from ThermApparel and Valino Tires.
