Did you ever think to yourself, “Self, how did GRM’s Rolex Experience come to be?”

Two words: Julie Giese.

Soon after transferring from Watkins Glen International to Daytona International Speedway, Giese called GRM

The conversation went something like this:

Giese: We should do something together regarding the Rolex–you know, get your people out to the race.

GRM: Um, okay.

And that is how history was made.

One thing that we always knew, however: Giese would continue to climb the International Speedway Corp ladder.

And climb she did.

In October 2018, after 15 years at Daytona, she was named president of Phoenix Raceway. The latest issue of PRI’s magazine talks to Giese–and make sure you get to the part where she discusses how those seeking a career in motorsports can possibly get a foot in the door.
