Think we couldn’t make the Grassroots Motorsports $2000 Challenge presented by Tire Rack any better? Think again. For 2022, we’ve added more events and activities to make this year’s Challenge the best one yet.
What is the $2000 Challenge? It’s our automotive festival celebrating autocross, drag racing and ingenuity, set for October 22-23 at Gainesville Raceway in Gainesville, Florida.
The biggest change for 2022? Builds from each end of the budget spectrum—from a strict $2000 limit to $1,000,000 supercars—are welcome to compete across three events to see if money really equals speed. Nearly $10,000 in prizes have been announced across the various events and classes.
Think your car is faster than our LS-swapped 350Z, V6 endurance race Miata or Garage Rescue Miata? Now’s your chance to prove it, as all three have been entered to compete.
Just want to run your car in the autocross or the drag session for the fun of it? You are welcome to enter either event with a single entry.
Not ready to race? No worries, there’s still plenty of ways you can participate in this year’s Challenge. If it’s a day of driving some of central Florida’s finest driving roads you want, there’s the Grassroots Motorsports Road to the $2000 Challenge.
If you’d rather show off your cool car and check out the what the rest of the $2000 Challenge competitors have built, our friends at Hagerty will be hosting a Cars & Caffeine on Sunday morning during the concours.
Even if you simply want to volunteer a few hours of your time, we are more than happy to accommodate you.
Of course, spectators are more than welcome, and trackside camping has been added for those who want to sleep as close as possible to the action. And for those looking to trade up for parts, we’ve even added a swap meet for 2022.
Learn more and register your entry now at 2000challenge.com.
