A new Civic means a new Civic race car, and Honda Performance Development is offering its new Civic Si FE1 this November at $55,000.
What do you get for a Civic Si that costs exactly twice as much as the standard version? Basically, this option includes all the parts and development needed to create a turnkey race car ready for SRO’s TCA class, with the entire build based on a body-in-white that, unlike the road-going version, doesn’t start with a sunroof, insulation, underbody coating or seam sealer.
The race car uses the turbocharged 1.5-liter engine and six-speed transmission found in the road car, although it features a few mods–like a stronger fourth gear and Cusco diff. The builds will take place at Honda’s Performance Manufacturing Center in Marysville, Ohio, the same facility that builds the Acura NSX road car.
