The Tire Rack One Lap of America will traverse America’s Midwest this year on May 2-9. We’re watching the field shape up and we’re seeing some interesting entries. Everything is present, from an Ariel Atom with more wings than you can shake a stick at, to a 1977 Ford Country Squire wagon—yep, you read that correct.
We also see our friend Andy Hollis signed up, this year driving a Miata with a Honda K-series engine swap. He finished an extremely impressive fourth place overall last year in his Honda CRX, mixed in with the GTRs, M3s and Mustangs. Now that he has come equipped with “the answer” we’re excited to see where he ends up. You can see a list of entries so far right here.

Excellent!
The plan is to sign up in two weeks after my co-driver finishes getting the requisite track experience. The ducks are almost all in a row and we're quite excited.
Always makes me miss Rocky Aoki and whatever he would bring, like a Rolls Royce or a pink Volkswagen Bug Dual Cowl Phaeton.

He has a blog covering the build on the Book of Faces: "One Lap Miata" or something. The build is progressing nicely.
A couple of friends are going to run again this year. They have the last couple of years with a GTR and Lingenfelter (sp?) Corvette. I think the plan this year will be to upgrade to one of the new all singing and all dancing GTRs and replace the Corvette with the older '13 model GTR.
This event is on my bucket list, but I'd rather do it the way Andy does in something other than the usual.

You'll be in good company with the "Poorvette" LS3 951 that has ran for the last several years. Chris and Herman Porter.
