The Petersen Automotive Museum plans to reopen its doors this Thursday, March 25, with new hours: Wednesday-Sunday, 10:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.

Although the museum highlights the reopening with new exhibits and vehicles, the best part about the reopening may be that “the museum will offer verified health care workers and first responders complimentary admission for themselves and up to three immediate family members for the rest of 2021.”

All tickets for the museum must be pre-purchased and are available now at petersen.org. For healthcare workers and first responders to receive complimentary access, those individuals “will need to reserve tickets online and provide a physical copy of professional verification at museum check-in.”

As far as safety protocols, both visitors and staff are required to wear face coverings, and social distancing guidelines “will be enforced” with designated paths, entrances, and exits. As well, the museum notes that interactive exhibits like the Forza simulators and the Discovery center will remain closed.

LOS ANGELES (March 16, 2021) – The Petersen Automotive Museum will reopen to the public on Thursday, March 25, 2021, with new exhibits, new vehicles and a new schedule of 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday through Sunday. To express its gratitude to all those on the front line during this challenging time, the museum will offer verified health care workers and first responders complimentary admission for themselves and up to three immediate family members for the rest of 2021.

The museum will follow the health and safety guidelines set by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the state of California and the county of Los Angeles to help reduce the spread of COVID-19. Staff members and visitors are required to wear protective face coverings. Social distancing guidelines of at least six feet will be enforced with designated entrance and exit signs. There will be designated navigation paths for each exhibit. The museum will also increase the frequency of routine cleaning and offer hand sanitizing stations on each floor. Interactive exhibits including the Forza racing simulators and Discovery Center will remain closed.

We are excited to welcome visitors back to the museum in a safe and responsible manner,” said Petersen Automotive Museum Executive Director Terry L. Karges. “We cannot thank the healthcare personnel and first responders enough for everything they have done for our community. We hope this small token of our appreciation signals to them how grateful we are to them and their families.”

All tickets must be pre-purchased. Online tickets go live on Tuesday, March 16, 2021 at 6:00 p.m. PST. In order to receive complimentary access, health care personnel and first responders will need to reserve tickets online and provide a physical copy of professional verification at museum check-in.

Tickets for all visitors must be purchased in advance on the Petersen website, and all guests will be required to wear masks during their visit. For more information about the Petersen Automotive Museum and its exhibits, visit Petersen.org/tickets.

Yeah, the basement is out of this world and is a must-see. I thought the museum exhibits were super neat too.
