A genuine Ken & Mary Skyline GT-R? Nope, how about an R32 Skyline rebodied to resemble one by Japan’s Rocky Auto, a longtime Skyline reseller and restoration house.
That means replacing the ’70s hardware of the C110-chassis Skyline with late ’80s technology, including rack-and-pinion steering, air conditioning and multi-link rear suspension. The menu offers available all-wheel drive and twin-turbo power, while listed options include LED lamps, Brembo brakes and Rays wheels.
The goal of the project, as explained by the Rocky’s Auto website: “By building a vehicle based on the R32 Skyline, we have been able to significantly reduce the cost and number of days required to build a comfortable old car, and we are now able to hold down the prices we can offer to our customers.”
The standard conversion for Rocky Auto’s R32 Ken & Mary GT-R starts at 9,850,000 yen–so about $90,000.
