I appreciate that there's a donation link. I'm not close enough to donate supplies, but I can at least throw in a few extra dollars.

Racing for ALS is switching gears this week from helping fight ALS to helping those affected by Hurricane Helene in Western North Carolina. They’ll be loading up at least five haulers in the Raleigh, North Carolina, area with hurricane relief supplies. Then, the group will be taking those goods to the North Carolina towns of Jefferson, Lenoir, Marion and Swannanoa.
This cause in particular hits home for the non-profit organization. Racing for ALS driver Ryan Cheek lives in Western North Carolina. She, her family and her home are okay, but she reported this on Facebook:
“We are seeing the widespread destruction throughout WNC. It is hard to not fall into despair. I have prayed a lot, and I’m also trying not to think about the things I cannot control.
“The silver lining is how much neighbors and friends are coming together to help each other. Government organized relief is not enough for the substantial amount help that it is needed. Regular people’s efforts to bring in supplies, local small businesses giving away what they have, is proving invaluable and greatly appreciated.
“I hear that Racing for ALS has a mighty cause raising funds for relief and plans to bring in multiple loads of supplies. If you feel moved to donate, I can assure you all of it will go towards helping Western North Carolina.”
What is Racing for ALS looking for?
Where can you drop them off?
