When drifting burst onto the scene back in the day, Honda fans felt a little left out. After all, the Civic in its natural state isn’t very suited for drifting. It can make a fine drag car, but its front-drive layout can’t exactly compete with the Hachiroku.

But Honda eventually found ways to join the party, including this rear-drive, 500-horsepower Element shown at the 2006 SEMA Show.

James Robinson ended up competing in FD with it, but it was less than successful, to put it mildly. Still marks the only SUV/CUV to compete in Formula D, largely because they ended up banning them.

I love Honda Elements so it gets an 11/10 for me. If my Sequoia ever dies I'm getting one of these to replace it.

Also I've been binge watching all the seasons of Top Gear lately. I'm on the 2005 season right now and James May reviewed one of these and desperately wanted Honda to bring them to the British Isles. Clarkson remarked "Well Honda sells the CTR, S2000, and NSX here at the moment, I guess that's just too much excitement for them here."
