Thank you, everyone, who stopped by to say hi this past weekend while at Daytona International Speedway. Thanks for the masked smiles, shows of support, and general enthusiasm for all that we do.

Next year, we promise, we’ll be back to usual, Midnight Tour and all. Together we’ll get through this.

Of course, we also need to thank those who supported this year’s GRM Experience at the Rolex 24 At Daytona: Sunoco, TRW Ultra and Intercomp. Thank you for the goodies, too, and hopefully everyone grabbed one of those TRW red shop rags.

With the garages closed, no midnight tour, no grid walk, uncertainly about Saturday night dinner, and the fact I didn't want to drag my dad to Florida and risk getting him (and then my mom) sick, I thought punting my tickets to next year and staying home was the smart play.  After trying to watch the various bits that were on TV/Trackpass plus listening to the practice sessions over IMSA radio, I realized that I enjoy that trip and the GRM Experience way more than I thought I did!  Every time the helicopter shot panned over Geico Park West and I saw the empty spot where my RV usually sits I got pretty sad.  It might have been "smart" to stay home this year, but I'm not sure it was "right"!  I can't wait to be back next year!

Oh, damn, and as a bonus bummer: I always do my magazine renewal at the booth on the corner on Sunday morning.  I need to remember to go do that via the interwebs tubes here so I don't miss an issue!

Yeah, this year was definitely different, but we managed. Personally, I spent the evening up in the grandstands: terrific view, lots of space and so many bathrooms. I even did my own Midnight Tour, just to keep the tradition going.
