Oh good, there's still plenty of time to build a car.
Team Gutty's Civic/Subaru was a big hit at last year's event.
Who’s ready for some fun low-buck racing? We have 55 teams heading to Auto Plus Raceway in Gainesville, Florida, this Friday to compete in the Grassroots Motorsports $2015 Challenge Driven by General Tire and sponsored by Miller Electric, CRC Industries and Pulstar Spark Plugs. You all know the parameters: You have $2015 to create a car to excel in autocross, drag racing and a concours event.
This is the largest field we’ve seen since 2009. Want to come enjoy it in person? Spectators always get in for free. And because we don’t believe in velvet ropes, virtually every area (except for the courses themselves) is open to onlookers. Don’t forget, Al Unser Jr. Will also be in attendance as a judge for the concours portion of the event.

Plus, we will see some of the past participants coming back for the 15th anniversary of this landmark event. Don't know how many of those are entered and how many will just show up, if they can get the car loaded. Great weather forecast, should be fantastic!
And we just took another late entry over the phone. Someone scored an E36 M3 for $1500. That brings us to 57 entrants. I'll have to dig through past issues, but I think that might be a new record.

I think the 2005 event (first one I competed in) was up in the 60s.
Everyone have fun down there this weekend!
