Hey that's me in the picture.

We’re making the 2022 Grassroots Motorsports $2000 Challenge presented by Tire Rack bigger and better than ever. How? We’re glad you asked.
Celebrating autocross, drag racing and ingenuity at Gainesville Raceway in Gainesville, Florida, October 22-23, the $2000 Challenge is open to builds from each end of the budget spectrum for the first time ever–from a strict $2000 limit to $1,000,000 supercars–to see if money really equals speed. In total, we have nearly $10,000 in prizes to be won.
Think your creation can outpace our LS-swapped 350Z or Garage Rescue Miata? Now’s your chance to prove it: Both have been entered to compete this year.

In case you just want to run your car in the autocross or the drag session for the fun of it, you’re also welcome to enter either event with a single entry.
Not ready to race? No worries, there are still plenty of ways you can participate in this year’s Challenge. Our friends at Hagerty will be hosting a Cars & Caffeine on Sunday morning during the concours, so you show off your cool car and check out the what the rest of the $2000 Challenge competitors have built. Those looking to bring a vehicle to Cars & Caffeine must preregister for the event here (the good news, though, it's free).

Even if you simply want to volunteer a few hours of your time, we are more than happy to accommodate you.
Of course, spectators are more than welcome, and trackside camping has been added for those who want to sleep as close as possible to the action. And for those looking to trade up for parts, we’ve even added a swap meet for 2022.
Full details can be found at 2000challenge.com.
In reply to Colin Wood :
Not shown in picture.. 3rd gear wheelspin. Not because of power.. because aged out Hoosier R7s are the worst drag tires...
