Blame Javelin, longtime forum member and also a fan of scale models: He recently kicked off an unofficial GRM model car show.
Have an unbuilt kit or two sitting around? Perhaps a stalled project? Now’s the time to crack open the box, uncap the glue, and get to work.
Builds being shared already cover our favorite food groups–Miata, Mustang, GTI–and we expect more to come. Will there be an entry from the GRM editorial department? Perhaps.
The final deadline is tomorrow, April 18.

I'm still in therapy for that one. And several eye surgeries.
Jon/AAZCD suggested I do my bodywork ideas on a model but I doubt it will happen in time for the contest. We'll see.

Can't go wrong with a GT40.
The Thunderbolt is sweet too, although I had axle assembly trouble when I built that kit some years ago.

The Tamiya 300ZX would be my choice, followed by the Thunderbolt. I have that GT40 kit, it's a really old mold and the fit is... fiddly. That 1/16 Ferrari will fetch big $$$ on eBay FYI.
