Not just a Yugo, but a Yugo wearing box flares while hiking up an inside-rear wheel. Paul Fenner, a longtime Challenger and the GRM forum member with the highest post counts, entered the 1990 Yugo back in 2006.
As the story goes, this wasn’t his first choice for that year’s competition. But Plans A, B and C didn’t come together as hoped, hence the flared Yugo. It ran a 17-second quarter-mile time while finishing only about 3 seconds behind the day’s top entry in the autocross.
