Out of the millions of cars designed and built since the advent of the four-wheeled machine, many have been heralded as revolutionary or influential in our world. However, what is it that makes them so special, and who gets to decide on that?

That in itself may be a complex issue with no easy answer (and probably has a lot to do with personal preference), but in the meantime, we can see what cars legendary designer Peter Brock picked as his top automobiles that shaped our modern world over on Classic Motorsports.

Do you agree with the cars on Brock’s list? Also, what cars do you think changed our automotive world—for better or for worse?

I think that list is pretty much spot on. I don't think I could add/subtract anything. Of course you would expect nothing less from Brock than the perfect list.

I agree with most of that list, but I think there is a bit of overlap.  Do we really need both the Datsun Z and the 510?  While I realize he is talking cars and mostly those with sporting intentions, you cannot discount the original willys jeep for how it continues to influence vehicles today.
