Chevy 350? Small-block Ford? How about a Ford Barra, the inline-six found in the Australian-market Falcon?

Since I ended up with a propane engine, it’s got the better rods, which will be happier under the pressure of compressed atmospheres,” notes longtime GRM forum member gumby, resurrector of this Factory Five Type 65 Coupe. “Plus, the cam cover is the gumby-est shade of green I have ever seen. It stays green. Forever.”

Well there is precedence to this since the ace ace which is the cobra before Shelby put the v8s in it came with inline 6 engines from Bristol and Ford.

There's precedence for this because Carol Shelby once barbecued hot dogs and chicken breasts on a propane grill when in a stroke of genius he recognized how much faster he could cook no longer having to rely on his finicky webers.

In reply to David S. Wallens :

Six in a row is the way to go.
First what class is that car in ?  Who is their competition? I love the whole idea.
Jaguar won LeMans 5 times with a  in line six.   All those semi's putting a million miles on their engines are in line sixes.
And then there is Calvin Nelson's  Ameri Barra
