Some will say age is just a number, but what about when your race car is nearly 30 years older than most of the other cars on track?

Such is the case for this 1975 Porsche 911 RSR 3.0, which is ready to square up against the competition the 2021 Tire Rack Ultimate Track Car Challenge–cars like a 2020 Toyota GR Supra and a 2008 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 picked in our second round of accepted entires.

What is the Tire Rack Ultimate Track Car Challenge? It’s is our annual no-holds-barred track competition. The rules are simple: Car and driver must pass a NASA safety inspection. Period.

Here’s a closer look at look at this week’s selection:

John Duda only needs one word to describe what his 911’s greatest strength on track is: Grip. Is that enough to out-maneuver the other cars on track?

Jackie Ding’s 2020 Supra has a sizable list of modifications like an upgraded turbo, beefier suspension and sizable aerodynamic add-ons. But are those mods enough to guarantee a win?

Tracy Gaudu’s C6 Z06 is powered by a 7.0-liter Lingenfelter-built LS7. Is there truly no replacement for displacement, or do you need more than a big V8 to win?

View these cars, along with the rest of the field, on the UTCC website. If you think you have what it takes to win, enter your car here.

The Tire Rack Ultimate Track Car Challenge is presented by Tire Rack in association with Wilwood EngineeringHP TunersSPA TechniqueXClutch and KW Suspensions, with trophies from BimmerWorldFalken TireHoosier Tire, and Mach V Motorsports.

Came to see the Porsche and while it's everything I imagined, that C6 has me feeling all weird inside.  I love it.

The Porsche is outrageously cool looking.

Properly built 3 liter will put out over 350 hp, should way about 2300 lbs, but it needs gears.  My 2.8 liter with gears gave the 3.5 liter ones all they wanted at Road America
